South Burlington Rolls Past CVU 5-1

South Burlington topped CVU 5-1 in boys hockey Saturday night at Cairns Arena. The Rebels have won seven games in a row and improved to 8-1.

South Burlington grabbed an early lead 91 seconds into the contest when Matt Leonard scored off a Tommy Royer pass. Less than two minutes later, the lead doubled after Sam Finkelstein’s unassisted goal.

Chris Weinheimer, Charles Hall, and Royer also scored goals for SBHS. Hall assisted on Weinheimer’s goal.

Patrick Pattison scored the CVU (4-3) goal off a pass from William Bernicke in the third period. The Redhawks have lost four of their last five games after a 3-0 start.

Nathaniel Young stopped seven shots for South Burlington. CVU’s Jason O’Brien had twenty saves.

CVU travels to Stowe on Tuesday. South Burlington’s next game is January 14th vs. North Country at Cairns Arena.
