cvu’s gonna run away with the title this year
They will be upset by the winner of sb st albans. Lol
I could def see sb lax upsetting cvu. If they put points on the board call it a day. Dan.cone and Evan nolting have to have big games. Along with support from the likes of josh the rhino cassorino. But if bfa wins… cvu will take care of them
I feel like SB has been ranked very low this year with a strong attack and defense they should should be a real threat to teams like CVU and Essex. On another note SB frosh has been doing quite well having beat Essex 2 out of the three games they have played. A couple future all Americans I’m predicting with a strong team for years to come. CVU and Essex should watch out for SB who might not be able to clutch the title this year but in years to come will currently be a force to reckon with.
I believe CVU has been to widely known as a threatening team as well as Essex. I think some of the under rated teams might have a hold of the cup this year with one big one in mind being SB. Dan Cone and Evan Nolting have been creating great hype for that colorful baby blue team. I wouldn’t be surprised if SB upsets a few teams and finally gets the respect they deserve.
Game in in less than an hour. I will report back the score for anyone interested in the BFA at SB game. Go REBELS!!!!!!!!!
Mmu over spaulding alllll day. We have over 15 seniors. This is our year
any other scores? SB needed OT to win tonight. Final was 11-10 SB. Off to the Redhawks on Friday. Does anyone know the other finals.
“the rhino” is a joke and over rated
Really rice you play a tight game with colchet in your regular season finale and then you go and decide to beat vergennes 29-2 this isn’t necessary take some posession shots and call it a day at 15 and work for the shut-out. I hope you lose because you deserve too
Don’t count Spaulding out……………..Great group of guys and together they can do it!
Rice took all of their starters out after the first quarter, so that was with backups in. I’m pretty sure Sartorelli and foreman didn’t even play, if they did they played minimal. It’s called depth. Vergennes wanted to play the game and it was played with mostly jv players brought up so you don’t really know what your talking about.
show-some-class……When I saw the score I thought the same thing, No need to put over 20 up on anyone (not to mention 29). I think Vergennes is new to the sport, and to have this done is unexcuseable. No a class move in my opinion. I hope they get beat as well.
I played vergennes in a jamboree a couple years ago when I was on my jv team and we were up 8-0 in 3 minutes. The rest of the game we ran our offense and took possesion shots to run time off the clock and we ended the game 8-0, its as simple as telling you’re players not to score or telling your team to make 15 passes before a shot. Don’t defend this BS especially for a team that ****** out of playing d1
Also I’d like to make a shout out to mmu attackmen shawn haskins. His four year lax career just ended and although he never won a championship he will go down as one of the most electrifying players in vt history. I want to make.a movement and make shawn haskins the 1st player to make the vt scoreboard hall of fame. We will always remember him for his bold victory predictions and his brief case cradle. So trey and shane. Please make haskins the 1st player to be individually honored on the Vermont scoreboard hall of fame
Responding to the comments made by the Rice fan. Their is no way you need to defeat a team like this in any sports. It’s a classless move end of story.
@LAXBRO and show-some-class
What are you guys gonna do? The games over, its done. There’s no need to post angry comments at Rice. They played the way they did and thats that. Rice is moving on and it looks as if they have a pretty good shot at winning the D2 title. There is nothing you guys can post that will stop them from trying to do this.
@ SB fans
You all have been talking about how great SB is throughout the year. SB is not as good as you all say. There has been comment after comment about SB attack and how they are so “strong” and “underrated”. They really are not that great. BFA took them to double OT in the playdowns and SB barely came away with the win. They also have lost to CVU twice and Essex twice who are clearly the two top teams in the state. SB also has a loss to Spaulding…
They have an extremely tough battle tomorrow against CVU which should be a great game to watch. If they have anything to prove, they can do it tomorrow in Hinesburg.
@ I
Dude… we’re talking about Varsity 2011 lacrosse teams here. Not the SB JV or Frosh teams with their “future All-Americans”.
Rice is a great program. They have tradition and plenty of class. for you to sit there and say that is ignorant and pedantic. the bottom line is that most people hate to see rice win, it happens every year. i saw the game, and myself think they are great, one memory was after the Vergennes game a captain going over to the Vergennes bench and shaking the goalies hand who was hurt during play. It was a defenseman who played about 1 quarter. By looking at the roster, three JV players that were brought up to play strictly for that game all had hatricks. only two of those 9 goals had less than a 3rd assist. in my opinion it shows less class simply running around with the ball. these boys chose to play, why play patty-cake and give them a “run the clock out game.” obviously dont just go to net immediately, but dont give up good shots simply to make the other team feel better. I think they did the right thing. if it were not for the game, those starters would have been able to practice and put work in. if anything, Vergennes should have opted out of the game to save this from happening. it was not up to Rice. Sartorelli is very good. he had all of his goals withen the first few minuites all off of 2nd or third assists as well. no need to bash players, he and foreman played only 1 quarter. the backup goalie was put in at half. just a poor move by vergennes to play the game.
Yes EHS & CVU are the top 2 in the state, and a 9th seed lossing to an 8th seed in 2ot’s on the read is not all that unusual (beating a team like Rice did to Vergennes is unusual). Can SB hang with the top 2 in the state…..Yes I think they can. Both SB games vs EHS SB held an early lead and one of the two games vs CVU they also lead early. These games were eventually won by the better teams. As far as the Spaulding game, this was an awful game for SB at every position.
What Rice did to Vergennes was just unsportsmen like there is no excuse to beating a team that bad
Don’t forget, when you’re talking about the Rice game, that a team wants to send a message to the other teams in the tournament. If you put up a huge score with your backups, other teams will fear you. They’re trying to win a title, so intimidation is a huge thing.
lemme hear a cougar roar…is that a joke? there have been so many better players to come out of vt even in the last 5 years that youre boy there wouldnt even come close to cracking the top 10
Way to get the W boys. Update — 9-5 CVU win over SB.
Keep it rolling!
Brattleboro defeats rutland 13-8
i dont play lacrosse, but i attented the bratt rutland lax game, and bratt looked real good, dominated all game.. havent seen essex play, but that should be one hell of a game, watch out.
With the recent dismissal of 4 CVU players, they have no chance
Essex vs cvu championship. Look for Justin beaudry to come into his own and emerge as a.true.scoring threat
@ Kevin Spacey
With the dismissal of 3* CVU players, I would expect them to come out more fired up then ever…
