Casey Harman Called Up to Single-A Peoria Chiefs

Casey Harman was drafted by the Chicago Cubs out of Clemson University

Former South Burlington High School pitcher and current Chicago Cubs minor leaguer Casey Harman was called up to the Peoria Chiefs earlier this week. The Chiefs are the Class A affiliate for the Cubs and play in the Midwest League. Harman has been assigned uniform number 27.

Harman made his professional debut last night with a scoreless eight inning in Peoria’s 7-2 win over the Clinton LumberKings. The lefty walked one batter while recording two groundball outs and one flyout.

Harman was selected in the 29th round of the 2010 MLB Amateur Draft out of Clemson University. Last season, Harman helped the Clemson Tigers to a surprising run in the College World Series. Clemson finished in 3rd place. Harman had been participating in extended spring training before his call-up.
