GATORADE VERMONT BOYS SOCCER PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Essex senior Paul Bianchi was named the 2010-2011 Gatorade Vermont Boys Soccer Player of the Year today. Bianchi scored 21 goals and four assists while helping Essex win the Division I state title. He has signed a letter of intent to play at the University of New Hampshire. South Burlington senior Andrew Mercier won last year’s award.
Lauren Bernard finished 2010 with 18 goals
GATORADE VERMONT GIRLS SOCCER PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Lauren Bernard of Colchester High School was named the 2010-2011 Gatorade Vermont Girls Soccer Player of the Year earlier this month. The junior scored 18 goals and 11 assists this season while guiding the Lakers to the Division I championship game. Bernard has verbally committed to play soccer on scholarship at Boston College. Rice senior Brittany Pfaff won last year’s award.
