Four-year UVM star Marqus Blakely will play in his first NBA Summer League game Monday night in Las Vegas, Nevada. The former University of Vermont Men’s Basketball player will look to make an NBA roster while playing on the summer squad of the Los Angeles Clippers.
Blakely will showcase his skills alongside the NBA’s 2009 #1 draft pick PF Blake Griffin from Oklahoma. Also on the team is this year’s #8 draft pick PF Al-Farouq Aminu out of Wake Forest and PG Eric Bledsoe from Kentucky who the Clippers obtained from the Oklahoma City Thunder in a trade.

Update: Blake Griffin will practice but not appear in games…Blakely had a team high 14 points Thursday night in a 72-71 win over the Trail Blazers. Blakely contributed with a game saving two-handed block with 4 seconds remaining to preserve the win. His final stat line included the following: 14pts, 6/9 FG, 1/1 3pt FG, 6 boards, 2 assists, 2 steals, 1 block
