Congratulations to Marqus Blakely for winning the 2010 College Slam Dunk Contest.  The UVM Forward closed out his college career by defeating Bradley’s Chris Roberts  in the finals. Wake Forest’s L.D. Williams bounced the basketball off the top of the backboard while Blakely jumped over him to throw down the dunk to give him a 41, one higher than Roberts. In the semi-finals Blakely had a spectaular dunk using teammate Evan Fjeld who flew in just for the assist. After completing the dunk, Blakely performed the “John Wall Dance” to the delight of his competitors and the crowd.

The event took place at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, site of the Final Four. ESPN had television coverage. Earlier in the evening, Maryland’s Eric Hayes won the Men’s 3 Point Contest and Detroit’s Brigid Mulroy won in the Women’s 3 Point Contest.
